The Aspire Craft Fair was held on Saturday June 19 at the Meriden, CT office was a huge success. To beat the heat the outdoor market moved inside, but buyers and sellers still found each other.

There were ten vendors (adults and youth supported by Aspire) who offered their unique handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind items for sale. Everything from tie dye, jewelry, and handmade wreaths to baked goods were sold. Connecticut participants included Millie S., Kim S., Tim R., Kemar M., Maggie L., and Gloria V. Lauren and James from Maryland also sent up items that were sold on their behalf.

Everyone made a good amount of money in the four hour event. Just as important was the opportunity to get together and see people they hadn’t seen in a while. Project Director and organizer Gail Skrzypiec reports, “It was definitely a real feel good situation.” She’s grateful to the staff who stayed all day to make this fair happen: Debbie Genovese, Jackie Greene, Sandy Strilkaukas, and Kathy Robinson.

There were even a few shoppers from out of state. Lisa Lauretano drove down from Massachusetts. Tara Sullivan and her husband came all the way from Vermont. With such a great response, folks are already talking about having the next fair in the fall. Watch for announcements!
